As someone else pointed out, the requirement of using two hands to operate this device means that the actual reach isn't as long as some shorter tools. With my 17 cutter, I could reach out, when needed with one arm to extend the length of the tool.

With this, it's both hands on the tool, meaning that any additional reach is almost negated and I had to re-position my ladder frequently to work around some larger, taller hedges. Also, this thing is of high quality, and the run life is long - because the battery is large. I found it to be pretty heavy and felt a lot of fatigue in my arms using it over a two hour stretch (with breaks). Not the easiest tool to use, in my view, but very high quality for sure and great run time, made easy work of my hedges. I still recommend it, especially if your hedges are more'conventional'.

This hedge trimmer had more power than I ever dreamed of... The battery is very long lasting! They came up with a incorrect price online. I now own 4 EGO garden tools. This hedge trimmer works fine but it's not perfect. Make your job much easier and quicker. Battery seems to be older model then the one specified in the box.
